About me

 

My name is Lucy Thompson and I'm currently studying Hospitality Management at The Universty of Central Lancashire. I'm in the process of completing a year long placement with The Ribble Valley Inns, Northcote at the Rovers and Northcote. They are all part of the same company but have very differnt ways of provide an excellent service and fabulous food.

 

Before I started my placement I had already worked for their flagship 'The Three Fishes' for two and a half years so I already had good connections within the company and that is what made it easier to organise this placement. It has so many different departments I still want to explore. 

 

I am so lucky that I got to move around the pubs and also work within a michelin star kitchen, I'm trying to gain as much experience as I can, do as much traning as  I can and ask as many questions as I can.

 

I started late last year in August 2014, since then i have worked at three of the pubs within the chain, Ewood Park and  now at Northcote. It has been an amazing yet tiring experience and I have meet so many people that I would love to stay in contact with. The majority of my placement took place in The Three Fishes and Northcote, my placement is still taking place until July 2015, I'm hoping to continue to work at Northcote part-time during my studies untill I graduate next year.

 

My blog is all about the different pubs/departments I have worked in, my thoughts before the placement, what I have done during the placement , what resposibilites i was given, what I feel I have learnt and my final thoughts about the placement as well as how it has affected my mind about my future career, as this is what a placement is all about.
